Two Posts in One

So I have two stories to tell and neither have pics but I feel they need to recorded as this is the only form of journal I got going on right now

On Friday we were at the mall and saw Santa Claus, so we decided to take Landon. The kid was definitely apprehensive but I figured he didn't actually have to talk to Santa or sit on his lap he just had to meet the guy. So I went in with him and I think the only reason Landon came with me is because I told him that Santa would give him a treat. The guy was super nice (and looked very much like a real Santa), we walked in I did all the talking and Landon gave him a high five, we got our candy cane and left. I figured it was a good stepping stone to actually sitting on his lap and talking to him in a few years. We have no pictures because we had no camera with us (and cause you weren't suppose to take your own pictures) and I wasn't paying for a picture if Landon wasn't even going to sit on his lap.

Now my other story - I'm in the primary presidency in my ward and on Sunday our Music leader wasn't there. The secretary and president are both quite musical so when this happens the responsibility usually falls on them but our President had to leave and the secretary had to get something else done, so leading the music fell on me. Here's some back information I definitely would not list music as one of my talents - I don't suck, I can sing in a choir setting and lead some music but Junior sharing time provided as opportunity I didn't think would come my way - a solo in church. I can't sing super loud and the song was really high so it wasn't pretty. The music leader had left a list of songs, so that's why were singing that one even though I didn't really know it (and either did the kids it turns out). It was definitely as interesting music time as I gave the kids bells while we were learning the song "Christmas Bells", which later prompted a comment from someone I passed in the hall that I was brave. The kids were pretty good with the bells especially when they were asked to hold them still (it helped that after we held them still we got our wiggles out of our bells). So I've learned that I need to brush up a bit on my primary songs before this opportunity comes my way again.

Just wanted to let you know, Brenna just LOVED the "Christmas Bells" song and was THRILLED to be able to play the bells with the song. So, now you know it wasn't a total bust. ;P

Hi, I found your blog through Marie's. You are brave for giving bells to a group of kids. Excellent that they listened, though! A choir solo? Eeek! I can also sing (I think) in a choir group, but would NEVER have the guts to do a solo!

Your post about your Landon was too cute! Amazing what they pick out as toys!
